Upcoming Genealogy Events

In case anyone wants to venture as far as Tinley Park, the Tinley Moraine Genealogists are meeting on Thurs., Mar. 5 and the topic will be "The Back of the Yards" by Dr. Dominic Pacyga. This is "an illustrated lecture about the development of the Back of the Yards neighborhood and the Union Stock Yards from 1986 until today." Dr. Pacyga grew up in the area and is an urban historian who has written several books on the neighborhoods of Chicago.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
Business meeting at 6:45 p.m.
Program at 7 p.m.

Program will be at the Tinley Park Public Library, 7851 Timber Dr., Tinley Park, 708-532-0160.

You can visit the Tinley Moraine Genealogists at www.tmgenealogists.org. They also have a Saturday genealogy "conference" in April. More info when I get it.
